I'm not certain what the yellow coating on the rocks is, but I'm sure it's wholly natural. Slime mold? Wouldn't that be awesome.

For such a photo-worthy location as the Columbia River Gorge and the half-dozen or so times I've visited it, I find it rather odd I don't have more good pictures of it. While I would like to say that this is my best photo of the area, truth be told, I didn't take it. This is a picture my father took, and my mother is in a purple coat at the base of the falls.
