Yosemite Valley has been so heavily photographed by masters and tourists alike that it seems almost meaningless to depress the shutter button unless something extraordinary comes along--a clearing winter snowstorm, a flock of Kenyan zebrabirds, a meterorite taking out Half Dome, etc. In a moment of hope I thought I spied just such an extraordinary scene: the last rays of sunlight falling on a field of flowers in front of El Capitan. Impressive as this scene may (or may not) be, I'm still holding out for that meteor...
